Tim grew up in northwest WI working on a 120 cow registered Holstein farm. He received a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls in animal science and then received a M.S. degree in dairy nutrition from the University of Kentucky. Masters research included work with BST, DCAD rations, Megalac and work with trace mineral / Vitamin E / immune system interactions. Tim spent 16 years in the feed industry working across much of central MN and western WI working with large herds and expanding operations and was also a General Manager for a feed and agronomy company in northwest WI.

Tim's current focus is working with family businesses, offering dairy business planning and dairy profitability consulting services, as well as working with family businesses putting together succession and ownership transition plans, business entity development and conflict resolution.
